If he retired today it would be due to some tragic injury or event so yes he'd be a HOF'er.

Most likely, but a few more years would help him.:

some key notes:
NFL's leader in career Passer Rating at 105.8
best TD:INT ratio in NFL History at 3.89
2011 NFL MVP

I remember watching his draft day slide like it was yesterday. Being a Tedford QB really hurt his draft stock. I still can't believe Alex Smith went no. 1 overall and he slid to 25. Not that Smith hasn't been decent in recent years, but he was never really as good as a 1st overall pick should be.

Is Rodgers as good as he is now if he is drafted by the Niners? He really did land in the perfect spot for himself.

I didn't pay attention to Rodgers at Cal.

Was he just above average and that is why he fell in the draft?

Not really...he was projected to be #1 by many people for the 49ers. They opted for Smith. He was still the second QB taken, positions 2-23 just seemed to be more need based and none of those teams needed a QB
