If this post is too long...don't read it. I enjoy the comments from other positive fans who know something about football and that's all the feedback that I'm looking for. I also want to state that this isn't a bash Miles thread and I can understand why he has gone with AJ to this point in the season. I'm purely talking strategy against a upcoming opponent that we know very well...

Reality is...that game shouldn't have been so close and Miles alluded to that in his half & post game comments. Our D played incredible and absolutely deserved that win. I was amazed that they responded to each and every TO with another stop. That's a huge positive from that game and it felt like our dominating D's of the past. Just an outstanding performance by the entire D!

I couldn't help watching AJ and thinking about how he compares to JJ. The key difference is that AJ doesn't see the opportunity to take a few yards when thats what the defense gives. I'm very surprised that he doesn't try to run more...when the play isn't there. In my opinion, he takes too many negative plays and that will kill us against the bumps. I've seen him enough to believe that he can run and has size and speed. He had several opportunities to tuck and run and he didn't. I'm also wondering why we don't have more designed QB runs...after we've pounded our RB's for 8 straight plays. The int's really got me wondering "if" he can be an effective game manager as that seems to be the reason that he is starting.

Bama will stack the box and they have the athletes to slow our rushing D. Our line looks much better and I have confidence that they can get consistent yards...just not every play for 4 quarters as we did against Ole Piss. That's asking too much against a Bama team that can match our size and strength on the line.

Our DL that everyone was so concerned with showed itself last night and while they might not dominate every remaining game...we can all see the potential that is there. If TV is as good as I've heard...what a future those guys have. If DH stays next year, we have the makings of another outstanding defensive front...and I will go as far as to say (potentially) as good as any in the past. Surely there is a dominant 2015 DE that was watching that game and sees an opportunity to step in for Rasco and contribute early.

Finally, BH needs to know that Miles has some confidence in him and he deserves another opportunity. What's the worse that could happen...a int. So what, our Off has been putting that pressure on our D anyway. Give the kid a package for the Bama game and see it through. "What if" it's the game that everything comes together for him and he finds some rhythm? We know who is the better passer but I can't say that AJ is definitely the best runner. I haven't seen it...

Has AJ done enough to scratch BH off for the remainder of 2014? I say no.
