OR is the LNGLF project close to this point in the permitting/financing/ground breaking steps?

if you have to ask this question then you probably shouldn't play in Oil and Gas market.

Sempra's Cameron deal has been next in line for a while, but consider this slide from their (LNG Limited's) investor presentation. LNG Llimited is up against stiff competition on every front. Consensus is somewhere between 6 and 10 of these actually get built.
This should probably be merged in the big LNG thread.

The OP's question isn't about competition...........
LNGLF will still get built and is very close to finalizing all its FERC request....

Doesn't mean it will get approved and approvals take 2+ years

That article has so much fail in it. A) Sempra has nothing to do with Cameron LNG anymore. B) Bobby Jindal was a no show at the ground breaking.

Cameron LNG makes up 51% while Mitsui, GDF Suez & Mitsubishi make up the other 49%.

Cameron LNG is the JV company. Sempra owns ~51% of Cameron LNG. Mitsui, Mitsubish and GDF each own 16.6% of Cameron LNG.

Subject to a final investment decision to proceed by each party, finalization of permits, project financing and other customary conditions, Sempra Energy will have an indirect 50.2-percent ownership interest in Cameron LNG and the related liquefaction project, the remaining portion will be owned by affiliates of GDF SUEZ S.A. (GDF SUEZ), Mitsubishi Corporation [through a related company jointly established with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK)] and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Mitsui), each with 16.6-percent stakes.
