LSU basketball practice starts today for the 2014-2015 season.

While I'm sure one of the regular baskeball poster will put together a much more in-depth preview, the skinny is that LSU potentially may be the third best team in the league behind only UF and UK. A NCAAT bid is not something that should be unexpected.

UK returns a ton and will likely be #1 to start the season.

UF lost several experienced players, but they still have recruited at a high level and still have the Dean of SEC coaches in Billy D.

After that you've got a glut of teams that could be very good (LSU, Ark., Bama, UGA) emphasis on could. LSU returns 2 of the 30 best NBA prospects going into the season (Mickey and Martin); Brings in a whole new backcourt with size, ability and D1 experience; along with a skilled 7'0 Fr. Center. Couple that with maybe the assistant coach coup of the year in getting former NBA HC Eric Musselman to join the staff, and things might be looking up.

Finally, in November LSU will sign the the best HS player IN THE WORLD for the 15-16 season.
