You can fly anywhere in the US, besides AK and HI, within 5 hours.

My gf and I got a cabin at Lake D'Arbonne State Park for Halloween weekend...cost about $360 for a 3 day weekend...but the cabin is on a lake.

ETA: And they have Halloween festivities at the park

Farmerville, LA.

My dad's camp is on the lake. I'm headed up there the weekend of 10-24 if you want to ride. I will bring the lunch meat and Chee-tos, if you bring the booger sugar.

This is what I would pick if you needed a place within reasonable driving distance. Watercolor has an inn right on the beach and there are good restaurants, etc within an easy walk.

If you do like the beach idea, there is a place east of Destin that is an adults only place called Henderson Park Inn that I hear good things about.

The suggestion for the Grand Hotel in Point Clear is goog too. There is a little town near there named Fairhope that is cool for a relaxing weekend.
