DS finds the news story linked on DU or slate or daily beast, and the writers on there are the ones that create bullshite titles for the article. DS simply copies the title from one of those moonbat websites, without reading the article that the website linked.

Really? You read the article and that's what you came away believing was the gist of the message. Really?

Amazing

Pretty sure National Review wrote their own headline.

I'd like to explore this a bit.

The article never implicitly links Obama and the actions. Only through the first two sentences (headline and first sentence, quoted above) does the author do it.

So the article basically throws poo, but can also say "hey I never said that." Is that the purpose? Because the author doesn't seem to explicitly answer the initial question.

What happened to the "I read the article" crew? I'd like to understand why different groups see the same thing differently.

When I read the column I interpreted it as a commentary on accountability of leaders. The author pointed out several leaders who have not been held accountable for decisions by the organizations they head. And I didn't get the idea that the author was blaming Obama for the lack of accountability. In fact, the author absolved Obama as the root of the problem.
quote:

No, Obama didn’t invent this “leadership” dynamic, but you can argue America’s frustration with it in the previous administration helped drive the president there: The wrong intelligence about Iraq. “Brownie, you’re doing a heck of a job.” The Abramoff scandal. The Wall Street meltdown, jeopardizing the entire economy, with the lingering sense that few of those who made the decision to invest heavily in the “toxic assets” ever paid the price for bad judgment.
I don't understand how anyone could interpret this column as trying to blame Obama for NFL scandals. It was a commentary on society at large. As such, the subject of this thread is patently false.

As for whether the author explicitly answers his initial question, I don't think it was his intention to provide an answer. I think his intent was to get readers to come to their own conclusions. There is more than just a smidge of irony since the author avoids accountability for an answer in an essay on accountability.

I guess that is the idea.

Put the Obsma stuff at the beginning but throw it out in the middle. Lots of begging the question in the article, but the audience probably agrees with most of it.
