It's a great coming of age movie set in the sad backdrop of child abuse. I was a big fan of Elijah's work as a kid with this and Forever Young being two of my favorites. I remember loving it as a child but seeing it as an adult, I wonder if I was old enough to be watching it . I didn't realize Dr. Melfi was the mom. I skipped ahead when the dog died. Expect the remake starring Adrian Peterson in the not too distant future.

Elijah Wood went from a good child actor, to awful teenage actor, to solid adult actor. Weird progression.

Haven't seen it in forever. But I remember liking it. Will have to watch it again.

We watched this movie in a 6th grade class. I honestly cried during it. I was the only one in my class who understood it.

Love him on Wilfred but his British accent in LOTR was terrible. It made him sound flamboyant.

How can someone have a British accent in a world where Great Britain doesn't exist?

Now that you mention it what accent would they have? Nowhere else real exists in that world either.

Because Britain exists in the world the audience lives in.
