Galactic fans: what are your thoughts on the album Ruckus?

Galactic definitely attempted something completely different with this album. A lot of the instrumentation was produced to give it a electronic/computer feel. The jam/New Orleans funk was ditched.
I would say it is my least played Galactic album, but I don't despise it. Uptown Odessy and Bongo Joe are standout tracks for me. It's also Housemans last album

Agreed, I did appreciate the attempt to expand their sound, but was really bummed when I first heard it.

Why is Ruckus the only Galactic album not on Spotify? I love it.
IMO Ruckus was about 4 years ahead of its time.

I don't know...may have to do with their cover of General Public's "Tenderness"...a contract might not allow it

Not my favorite but I do like galactic better with Housman than without. All their forays into hip-hop and the like just don't do it for me.

mixed feelings as the moil is one of my favorite galactic songs, but i'm not crazy about the album as a whole

It grew on me--still no Crazyhorse Mongoose or Coolin Off, but good stuff.
