In Georgia a bill is being discussed that would allow homeowners to defend their dwellings using deadly force from cops in them.

Slippery slope. I thought you could do that anyway if the cops don't announce themselves.
There was a case here in TX where the SWAT barged in and one of them got slaughtered while making entrance. The homeowner claimed that he had thought they were an intruder so he shot him dead.....not knowing it was a copper.

Thats the one I was talking about yesterday... They no knock entered his house because they thought he had pot.
I thought it was only 2-3 officers and the one who went out and got the warrant on his suspicion of pot plants was the one killed
Also, wasn't he acquitted?

They need to do away with the no-knock warrants. If the cops broke my door down at 3am (wrong house) somebody is getting shot and I will probably end up dead.

bullshite.
i think it is an extended right from the 4th amendment.
And as more "police" departments become militarized, this is entering into the 3rd amendment.

Yup there is no reason for a no knock warrant in regards to a non-violent offender.
I can tell you one thing, if I was awoken by someone storming my house at 1am, there will be shots fired.

The proposed Georgia bill mentioned in the OP also bans no-knock warrants.

In another no knock entry I think in North Carolina the sheriffs of the county executed a no knock search warrant on the wrong house. The city policeman that had gotten the warrant tried to tell the morons with the battering ram and guns drawn of this fact was roundly ignored by the members of the Sheriffs office. Residents held in cuffs with guns aimed at them on the floor. The policeman finally got his information relayed to a person with a brain cell not on hold.
