LINK

Just saw this on the tigerdroppings side ad and clicked. It looks pretty, well, simple. I like the user interface as well.

I switched banks not too long ago and was between Simple and Chase. I ended up going with Chase just so I'd have access to a branch. My friend has Simple and loves it though.

That would be my biggest complaint, the lack of any physical branches.

From their faq: How’s the ATM access?

We’re partnered with Allpoint®, the country's largest surcharge-free ATM network. That means that all of their 55,000 ATMs are totally free for Simple customers. We have an ATM finder in the mobile app that makes it easy to find the nearest Allpoint ATM. You can also get cash back at many merchants without a fee. A note about international ATMs: international ATMs cost Simple two to three times as much as domestic ATMs. There is a small fee for international ATM withdrawals, but we only charge you what it costs us—we never mark up fees.

I think every CVS has a Simple ATM too. My only thing was that to deposit larger checks (I can't remember the value), you had to mail them in to the HQ in the northwest. That seemed like a pain in the arse/not simple.

Why not just go to a local credit union?

Yeah that would be another major drawback. It's an interesting concept, but falls short in a few areas.

I belong to two of them already. I just like the interface it uses to track purchases, transfer money to friends accounts, etc.
