New study says Facebook is NOT a good predictor of job performance.

I feel like studies like this are inconclusive because they don't look at the details enough. Are we talking about jobs at McDonald's or executive positions? I am fairly certain that if I hire someone to be a manager and their facebook has them with a backwards flat-bill flashing wads of cash, it won't turn out well... However, if I hire him to collect the garbage, he might do just fine.
Oh well... here is the article on the study done at FSU that contradicts one done previously.
FSU study says FB not a good predictor of job performance
quote:
There are limitations to the study: it’s looking at college graduates rather than more seasoned employees who might “exhibit greater maturity and more vigilance regarding what they post online.”

I have a friend that trolls constantly on Facebook. He's an excellent software developer, so I guess trolling and writing code are compatible skills?

Facebook is big brother. People voluntarily sign up to be stalked, monitored and judged. frick that.
