Who left program in better shape, Stovall or Dinardo?

Was talking with a large group post game Saturday and interesting to note recall how similar the LSU years of the two (Stovall, Dinardo)were-
won big a few years, but very inconsistent, recrutied well, got fired and were replaced by guys who were very successful, both were great with the press at first, but in the end the press turned on them (maybe rightfully), both kept state talent home, but both also had some very bad losses. So who left the program in better shape because while each lost 7 games in their last season, the guys who took over never had a losing season...
Im not sure how I feel, but welcome others thoughts.

DiNarado. Not even a real debate.

Stoval was a master recruiter & left the program stacked. Take a look at Arnsparger's first roster in 1984. Just a cursory glance & it's a 'who's who' of LSU greats: Albergamo, Burks, Hilliard, James, Sancho, Andolsek, Caston.
My vote says Stoval.

I haven't compared the rosters but my first reaction was "Stovall - and it's not even close." I'll have to compare the two rosters now.

I DO remember both coaches....Stovall is my pick for sure, and Arnsparger would not have been remembered in a positive way without Stovall's recruits on campus and the ones he had lined up to come.

Too young to remember Stovall but Dinardo had some good athletes and seemed like a real good guy, the guy just could not win ball games. So many blown games in the 4th quarter

ok actually if arnsbarger was next then yeah he had some guys too. that defense, right? was that like michael brooks, henry marshall, eugene daniel etc?
also eric martin one of my favorite tigers and saints.
it's pretty close bc both squads have some NFL guys

Nope
not sure about stovall but dinardo at least started a trend. i don't know if he put up a fence but it was definitely a velvet rope. for a while you saw so many La guys go to miami, tenn, ND, nebraska, even UF, etc
