The Oakland hills is where people live in the higher price ranges. Remember the fire during October of 1991 ~ you could see it from the Giants' game. Destroyed over 3300 homes and killed 25 people. $1,300,000 in most parts of the bay area will buy a nice tract home with a decent but not huge size lot. My guess is that Matt is renting for a while to see how long his tenure will be. I hated when they got him.
