Our ELITE Outfield Appreciation Thread

One of the main reasons for our success (and I think maybe THE biggest reason) can be attributed to our stellar defensive outfielders. It is amazing to think back to last year's struggles in the outfield, watching Stony Brook in all three outfield positions just covering the whole field was thoroughly impressive - but this year's combination of Rhymes, Laird, Stevenson, and a mixture of others have brought us what we needed most.

I remember coming into the season constant bitching from fans (at a point even myself) about putting Rhymes a full time spot in left field and the guy has just been nails.

And here is the kicker: Our normal outfield has committed a grand total of ZERO errors this season.

Laird: 133 put outs -- 0 erros
Stevenson: 109 put outs -- 0 errors
Rhymes: 87 put outs -- 0 errors

Add in the main substitutes that have contributed heavily this season...

Foster: 30 put outs -- 0 errors
McMullen: 17 put outs -- 0 errors

That's a grant total of 329 put outs from our regular starters with 0 errors and 376 put outs total with 0 outs adding Foster and McMullen. Absolutely incredible.
