Take it you missed the SBNation article about the Bulls' team doctor? LINK

Having read that, I'd probably be nervous about taking their opinion, too.

The bit about Luol Deng being told to come back on a stress fracture until he went for a second opinion is pretty telling.

There is a big difference from being cleared to play because they don't think you are injured and clearing you to play AFTER you have fixed the injury. When was the last time a major athlete missed over an entire season due to an ACL?

15 pounds isnt a lot until you consider deng only weight like 70 lbs to begin with.

Nene missed a year between November 2005 and December 2006 due to an ACL tear.

Could be wrong, but it looks like he missed 1 year/1 day.

For me, it's less about time missed, and even less about when he was cleared to play.

He's been playing in full contact 5 on 5s for about 3 months. According to Stan Van Gundy, in all his years, he's never seen a player not come back into games after 1 WEEK of playing 5 on 5s in full contact.

That's why I think that there's something else in play here.

His brother, his agent, and Adidas. Plus the Bulls notoriously bad medical staff.

Of course, he could just be scared of Lebron (MSB approves of this.)
