I grew up in the old box and remember days where u could bring freaking MCD's in the stadium and eat. Try and do that now.

Sorry you can't bring your junk food in fatass. I'm not OT rich and I have season tickets. It's really not that expensive to be a baseball fan at LSU.

IMHO I think LSU baseball has turned into a money making scheme no longer geared towards the fans. I grew up in the old box and remember days where u could bring freaking MCD's in the stadium and eat. Try and do that now. It cost freaking hondo if you bring your family. Rich folk go out there to waste time not cheer on there school.

I bring food in whenever i want to

I know the facility is top notch but the crowd appears detached. I've been to the old Box numerous times & I just don't get that "magic" eminating from the new Box, at least from a TV broadcast perspective.

I feel the same way.I was crucified in the past by all the " super fans." The atmosphere at the new box doesn't hold a candle to the charm of the old one. It reminds me of stark differences of a Chicago cubs game at Wrigley Field and a Chicago White sox game at Comiskey Park. The crowds are different. The atmosphere is different, and the overall experience is different. That's what the new box feels like to me every time I go to a game there.

yall are comparing 90s gorilla ball to nowadays. i really dont hink you can compare the 2 time periods. That like saying Tiger stadium was way better louder and crazier back in the 70-90s than it is now.

Exactly. The game has completely changed since the 90s. Of course the atmosphere is gonna be different.

OH THE HORROR!!! WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN??? D:

Let's get real, people. If the atmosphere these days seems crappier than "the grand ole days" of either Old Alex Box in the 90s or like someone said Tiger Stadium 70s-90s, it's not the certain way the stadium is built, it's not younger, "entitled" or "spoiled" fans, it's you being nostalgic.

Also today's game is a terrible point of reference.

This. I'm sorry, but college ball is just boring now compared to the old days (clearly the new bats)... The most exciting/energetic moments I can recall at the old box were walkoff HRs, and back-to-backs. You just don't get that anymore, anywhere, ever.

Not true. Fewer tickets available at both venues due to a higher percentage of season ticket holders.

I kind of agree but i don't think the game was boring as much as we just could't get anything going to get the crowd into the game. The crowd feeds off the play on the field as much as the players claim they feed off the fans. When inning after half inning we bat is over in 2 minutes its kind of hard to sustain any kind of excitement.

Surely everyone remembers bringing beers in the outfield bleachers....you didn't really have to try to hide it as long as you were somewhat discreet about it

This too.
I've lost contact with the chef out in left-field (L-6 bleachers) who fed us during every game as well. shite was legit.

Either your good or your not. This weekend we were not and we lost to the back to back champions who were #12 in the country. Home field in baseball doesn't mean anything. That being said the atmosphere in the new box is not as good as the old box, but I'll take that stadium any day of the week we just gotta win baby
