Why not do what we did on the gaming board for the online dynasties?
Have all the season long threads you want, anchor them, then place a link to them in one stickied thread on page 1. That way they can get as long as they want, and won't clutter up the first page.
The only downside is they would have to be monitored to prevent fricktards from posting pron, etc.

That's the best way, Fiddy.
At this moment, there will be 7-8 "season long" threads, and that's automatically 7-8 threads that we be repeatedly bumped, everyday, until the season is over.
Make a sticky for 1-2 weeks with links to every season long thread, then after 1-2 weeks, remove the sticky and just hope that everyone looked hard enough and saved the link.
