Anyone know of any hunting clubs on the north shore accepting new members? Good turkey hunting is a must! TIA

Don't know what Money Hill has been up to lately. I hunted there for maybe 5 years from around 99 to 04, and there were some decent deer.

Was going to shite when we left because of "political" bullshite. Maybe someone else will know more about it

Talisheek off of Military Rd. It is at the end of this road called Esbon Rd. Basically across from that sort of new neighborhood with the nice houses on the left. Maybe two miles north of where 1083 T's off with Military Rd

The clubhouse is this old white trailer. The guy who used to run it(no idea if he still does) is named Mr Deelos. Pronounced dee-loos

Yeah, no phone number on that. I don't think he has a phone. It was a massive club. I mean fricking huge. They started parting it out when we left. That parting was half selling, half renting.

I looked it up and saw some pics from 2006 but nothing recent. It was all deer, which is fine, but nothing beats a gobbling turkey IMO!

Turkeys were all over the place there. frickers wouldn't leave me alone at one spot I deer hunted regularly.

It was a nice mix of property with swamp randomly mixed in there around pine trees. Food plots were always taken care of well

It is my understanding that you now have to be a member of the country club to be elgible to join the hunting club at Money Hill. I have a buddy that now works for them and was talking to him about this very thing a few weeks ago. I will confirm later today and report back.

No way. The country club is completely separate from the hunting club. I can't even imagine them letting some random guys hunt just because they live in a neighborhood. None of the guys I knew up there would ever have anything to do with a country club.

The hunting club used to own property to 435, but sold that a long time ago. Money Hill has been it's own neighborhood for 20yrs if I had to guess. It is still a pretty big lease, but not near as big as where it used to be

My buddy that now works business development for Money Hill confirmed the fact that one now has to be a member of the club to become a member of the hunting club. I would join the hunting club tomorrow at a cost of $1,000/ year, but I'm not interested in joining the country club.

Pretty sure you and the CC share mutual feelings.

IIRC, it was $500/yr when I hunted there. No way in hell would I sign up for some fricking country club to hunt somewhere. I'd imagine they lost a lot of good knowledge and solid hunters with that move

It started going downhill pretty quickly around 2000 when they were leasing out parts of the lease to people. Our club dues paid for their closed off sections to be taken care of and planted also. There were probably 15-20 people that left because of that.

When I got out, there were maybe 10 people total in the club. They were mostly assholes and all drove to the stand at 8 and left 45 minutes later. Most everyone only hunted 3 days, opening day, gun season opener, and one of the doe days. It's good to see that the direction they decided to take it in has blown up completely in their face.

Before there were people who would bring their own equipment to help with clearing and food plots. Now they are gonna have to pave roads to the stand

I came back Friday evening to Monroe and helped with some chores around my mom's house. My apologies.
