31 hits in 57 at bats (.544 avg)
6 walks, 2 strikeouts
1 homer, 6 doubles, 1 triple

5 straight games with at least 3 hits

In 25 games as a freshman, he has 47 hits and is batting .443. Last season when Rhymes broke the single season batting average record, he had 46 hits in the first 25 games.

It can't be said enough how great this guy has been at the plate. Special is the most appropriate word that people keep using, and it is true.

He'll have a ton of honors this season, hopefully including the LSU single season hits record and a victorious run to Omaha

He's the real deal. Can't be understated how lucky we are to have him for three years.

Not me. His ceiling is much higher than the 29th round he was drafted for last year. I didn't realize it was this low until I just recently looked. Going to college is beneficial for his future.

I mean in terms of the fact that he is off to this kind of start, and we have him for 2 more years after this season.

He only went that low because he broke his thumb. His cast should be in the hall of fame.

Injury + questions about his future position caused him to slip out of the first few rounds, and then from there under the new bonus structure he was going to cost too much over slot so he dropped a ton.

He wasn't a first round pick, but he was far from a 29th round talent.

This.

He was a 1s to 2nd round talent even after his injury.

Only reason he went in the 29th is due to the fact teams will take waivers on top round talent in the 1% chance that they actually want to go pro.
