Player Talk: Biggest Disappointments and Dark Spots

Draft picks- granted Hicks looked to have more potential than a 3rd Rd pick. Besides him tho, every draftee ended up IRed. We have "next year" but it was a disappointment for this one
Romeus- ditto, after waiting for "next year" for him in 2012 he deferred hope yet another year
Johnny Patrick- rated 2nd-3rd Rd when drafted he looks like he has been passed far enough by others that he could be possibly cut in 2013
Tez Wilson/Galette- I predicted sumpin like if we had 15+ sacks between these two it would mean playoffs. That didn't happen, 8 between them. Juneyah had injuries. Wilson is still on a long road to transition to DE from LB. Still have plenty of hope for both. Just expected to see more results this year. I'm ready for a can-do NOW DE and develop these guys behind.
Charles Brown- he actually looked improved in play. Injured again though. With some guys ya just can't stick with them if they can't stay on the field. It was a golden opportunity when Strief went down and he missed it.
PRob- I give him a lot of slack cuz I think he is quite mismatched in the Spags scheme. His ball skills are evident. Dunno if he will be able to be all he can in this scheme tho.
Jenkins- for me: 09- okay for a rookie role player, 10- high hopes excitement, 11- regression but still hopeful, 12- kinda wondering if he has a legitimate role or future anymore
Ellis- I called him Fatass II after last year. I at least thought he would turn it on a little playing in a contract year. Turns out I was wrong.
Hawthorne- I'm not down on him at all cuz I believe even after return from injury he was less than 100%. Back to his Seattle performance standards next year and we'll all be happy. Still, he was a major expectation that turned into more of a no-show.
McBride- he still may be an adequate roster filler but I no longer have any hope of him being more than that
Strief- I'm not near as down on him as many. Another I give a ton of credit of playing even when less than 100%. Beyond that however he is a journeyman RT at best.
Harper- I actually think he had an improved year over 2011. My disappointment is that his performance is still far below his pay. And that gets worse- $15mil of cap hit the next two years
Will Smith- I appreciate the past years, the leadership, yadda, yadda. I fault the FO for just keeping at too high of a price for too long. We paid almost $1million per sack this year. Gotta change
Some players might have had not so great years like Vilma, Shanle, or Devery. Those for me were expected, so not such disappointments

Hicks on defense is the only keeper. To me at this level no player should be brought in as a project on defense. You either have it or don't have it. We can't wait for these current defensive to get better cause the jury is in and they are guilty of high suckage

Here goes.
Godell aside.
Smith Ellis Bunkley Lots of money there. Go elsewhere.
OLB's. All of them are below par.
FS. Can't bemoan this enough.
LT position in off season.

agree. Didn't look like he cared out there in the Dallas game in particular. He was guarding Miles Austin on that 4th down play where they tied the game at the end. He had no sense of urgency at all.

agreed. His tackling was piss poor this year. It sucks that he was put into that many situations but you couldn't help but notice his poor form a lot of times.

Bye.
Atleast he wasn't as bad as Jonathon Sullivan was. He didn't have any impact last year and only played a notch or two above that this year. I watched him closely and he played pretty good against Atlanta both times and alright against the Bucs but that was it really.

the guy was hurt a lot and when he played, it wasn't at a position he was used to. Kinda hard to gripe about him IMO. But we need help at OLB. The speed just isn't there at that position. A lot of bad angles to the ball and..... missed tackles.
