Yeah, spin-off from the fricking Cars franchise. Come on Pixar, this film has had maybe a year or two development, and as a made for TV movie and is now slated for a theatrical release. I know Toy Story 2 was bullshitted together and it miraculously worked out, but this is from Pixar's weakest universe instead of its strongest universe. Wall-e was in development for like 12 damn years, and almost all Pixar movies have a development time of at least 5 years. Just seems as if they're completely bullshitting this one out for the money rather than for creative reasons.

Brave was highly forgettable.
I was really worried about this.

Wait, Wikipedia says that this is a disney animation film, NOT a pixar film, despite being a Cars spin off.

Brave seemed like good Disney to me, and not a Pixar film. I liked Brave, particularly the end, but it seems like this year Disney and Pixar mixed up their films, in that Brave is certainly more Disney and Wreck-It Ralph seems more from Pixar's catalog. Honestly think that Brave could have benefitted from more musical numbers, like maybe when the 3 other tribes arrive, when the witch is making the brew, or when they start chasing down her mother as a bear.

Regardless, this hurts Pixar's reputation. 90% of the audience is not going to notice the damn difference since it is a Pixar franchise. Disney needs to keep that studio's reputation up as high as possible, or parents will be less willing to take their kids to their films.

I don't think sales are at stake...at all.
The cynic in me thinks that Pixar is selling out.
The next film is about dinosaurs. The film after that will be about what it's like to be inside a girl's mind.
I'm not interested in that one.
Hopefully, the Good Dinosaur will be creative.

I'm honestly very interested in that one. They're definitely trying to bill that one off as their most ambitious project since Wall-e. Say what you will, but that's certainly a creative premise. I think it will either be incredible or an incredible disappointment.
