What two players were involved in the only score in the 1959 Sugar Bowl game between LSU and Clemson?

TD pass from Billy Cannon to Mickey Mangham, originally from Kensington MD.

What an overrated player if I've ever heard of one...

I wish he was a poster on TD so I could give him a piece of my mind!

Yep it was former East Jeff great Aaron Adams. I went to school with him. He also played basketball with Neil Reed who passed away earlier this year.

There was a thread on here a couple of years back about the MD connections on LSU's NC teams (Mangham, David Jones, Barrington Edwards, Patrick Fisher). We are hoping that Ego Ferguson is the next one!

Wow, did not know this. I took a basketball class at UNO on coaching and had East Jeff as my team and interviewed the coach. Neil Reed was a senior at the time. Watched a few of his games and was legit. Sorry to hear of his passing. Most people remember him of the video of Bobby Knight choking him on the court.

I Remember Lefleur missing that TD pass in the endzone that would have made me win my bet :)

Only thing I remember from that game was I drank a shitload of Bud Ice from a keg I bought. Won $300 from friends who thought I would pass out before halftime. Kept drinking the entire game. Damn near half the keg was drank by me. We had 2 kegs ( mine was bud ice and other was the Beast). After game collected the money, downed last beer, and passed out in my room.
