we freeze them in rigid quart containers. So the tails dont poke holes, and stuff full of shrimp then use a cup or so of the cleanest water in the icechest to fill up. Then freeze.

My wife is from Lake Arthur, so my FIL gets them from there and calls us when he gets a good batch and we load up for the year.

Is this common for this time of year? Why are they so schooled up right now?

hard north winds pushing all the water out of lake Lery.

Boats said they could feel the boat slow down when they would hit a pocket of shrimp.Said they've never had such large schools of shrimp hit at once like that.
Shrimp docks were busting arse,18 wheelers lined up down the hwy. to stock up the seafood markets.
It was insane down there yesterday.

Isn't Lake Lery mostly fresh being that it's really close to the diversion? Sorry for so many questions, just wondering.

Will it last til the end of the week? If it does, I may take a drive down on Friday.

You mean 16-20's and 26-30's. People butcher the sizes all the times.

But yes, they have been catching a ton. The last cold front brought them in. Shrimping during the white season is always good after a strong cold front.
