Dark Souls is Awesome

I never played Demon's Souls, but I finally got around to trying Dark Souls, and I haven't been this excited to get home to play a game in years. The difficulty is punishing, but the AI is rarely, if ever, cheap. Even when I don't get any further before dying than I did the last time, the attempt is never futile because I learn something from every attempt. The notes that players leave are an amazing idea and work great. Getting to the next bonfire or finally beating a boss I've been stuck on is incredibly satisfying.
Did anyone else have a similar experience? Does the gameplay continue to be refreshing throughout the whole game? Did anyone get frustrated and give up?

Played it.
Beat it.
Loved it.
Aside from a few points in the game, it never felt frustrating, just challenging. If you appreciate games with a steep learning curve and dont mind getting your arse kicked on occasion, I don't see how you can dislike this game.

Only part that I found unfair was Ornstein and Smough. Had to use the Solaire AI to help me beat him my first play through. I solo'd everything else.
