yeah...they're subjective but don't kid yourself because they do matter as to the overall athleticism of your team. the class of '09 is turning out to be a very solid group with 3*,4* and 5* kids all contributing.

Go ahead and keep telling yourself that &maybe you will start believing it. Sure, there are a few expectations to the stars a recruit received, but for the most part they are accurate. The more stars a recruit has the higher the odds he will be drafted. It’s a fact. The “stars don’t matter” argument is for small time programs that are trying to make themselves feel better about their own situation. Please stop bringing this up because it makes LSU look like Ole Miss or ULL.

stars matter. they are just not 100% indicators of performance.
a higher percentage of 5 stars make it in the NFL than the percentage of 4 stars, than the percentage of 3 stars, than the percentage of 2 stars. 5>4 >3 > 2.
but some 2 stars make it to the NFL and succeed.

Look at the stars then go watch some film. I was never drooling over seastrunk. All he did was run wide and go down at the contact.

This is very true, if you look at the top 10 recruiting teams for the last 5 years - those are mostly your 10 ranked teams in the final poll at the end of the football season.
There are always exceptions like Claiborne and Mathieu, but I think a guy like Anthony Johnson will be worth every star rating he was given. The stars don't matter is for teams that don't recruit well. It's nothing but sour grapes.
