Luke Plunkett — Konami announced today that two of its most popular franchises, Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders, will be getting HD compilation re-releases on the PlayStation 3 and, for the first time, will also see action on the Xbox 360.
The Metal Gear pack, due in November, will include Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. These games will now feature HD graphics, new art, remastered audio and achievements.
The Zone of the Enders collection, meanwhile, includes Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders 2 (and will boast the same improved/added features as the MGS pack). It'll be out in 2012.
Both packs will also boast a similar feature to the recently-unveiled PSP Remaster series, which Konami is calling "Transfarring". This will allow users to, when playing a game like Peace Walker that will be available on both handheld and console, transfer their saves between the two.
The company also unveiled plans for a Silent Hill HD collection. More on that to come.

I'm excited for this if it is going to retain the fixed camera from Subsistence. One of my problems with this game was the incredibly ugly textures and color palette. That may actually be what Russia looks like, in which case Kojima should aim to be less realistic.

The Zone of the Enders series wasn't half bad either, although I'm probably not intrigued enough to buy updated versions.

I loved zone of the Enders. MGS may be my favorite campaign game of all time.

IDK, I think I'd personally give the edge to Legend of Zelda, but I'd agree that MGS is way way way up there on the list. So pumped to get to play it on my 360

MGS2 was probably the best of 1-3 that I've played. Never played 4 where he was an old dude though

I hated Metal Gear Solid 2 beyond the Tanker portion. The story got incredibly stupid and convoluted and Raiden was insufferable.

the first one was the best. I also liked three because it went back and focused on Big Boss sidestepping the shitstorm that was the ending of MGS2.
I really didn't like the way solid snake's story progressed after MGS1. I thought the plot went completely off the rails halfway through MGS2.
