Voice your opinions after reviewing the spring game.

Things I noticed (outside of just qb play):

Chris Tolliver has got all the moves, but needs to work on his knowledge of the playbook a bit more.

Michael Ford is the truth, but not the back for short field situations near the goal line.

Barkevious Mingo must see the field. The guy is incredible amongst a d-line that got dominated largely because of their small size.

I trusted Jarrett Lee with the ball more than Jefferson during the game. I'm fully aware it was one scrimmage, but still the guy looked good aside from the pick (which was arguably the reciever's fault).

Chavis is as good as advertised with LB'ers. They played great in the scrimmage.

Our DB's may well be the best in the country.

Post your thoughts...

kind of jumping to conclusions there with mike ford b/c he was stopped at the goal line. it could've been a multitude of reasons.

crappy blocking
being tired(i believe he had nine carries that series)
sample size

That's a good point. It was at the end of a long series that he carried the ball a lot during... The kid is legit, I certainly am not taking a thing a way from the guy. I really like the potential in that team if we can get a trustable qb

He just seemed to cut off a lot of routes early. I'm not dogging the kid; I think he'll be a slot everyone in the SEC is talking about in a year or so I just hope it's sooner. He's still young.

Typical spring game. Mingo, Minter , Ford and others showed talent. Ford was hit in the backfield near goal line. Three players were in the backfield as he got the handoff and I don't think any back could have done better on the plays. I think when they put all the pieces together in the fall, LSU will have a great football team.

LSU's defense was very good near the goal line last year. Also, does anyone think that a lack of experience at WR (and Toliver's injury) coupled with good defensive back play could have been part of the reason for the subpar performance of the qb's?

We have two running backs that understand hitting the hole. Had KW been able to do what both SR and MF do, he would have started. I will feel good about or running game no matter which guy is in.

JJ is not improving. If he does not improve in Fall camp, he should not play.

Defensive backfield could be really special.

Not to mention I can recall about 6 balls that should have been caught.

Still QB's need to improve considerably in the next couple of months.

Toliver gives up on his routes. Puts great pressure on the qb.

Billy G wore C. Tolliver out for not knowing a sign from the sideline. It was actually pretty funny. He called timeout and pulled him off the field and repeatedly looked at him with his hand signal and said, "WTF does this mean?"

He got his arse ripped by the coaches, and clearly ran the wrong route that didn't continue to the sideline.

I love how fast our D is.

That and defensive coordinator is much better than the OC coaching against him

Upon second viewing I came away even more optimistic. This team looks good on just about all aspect aside from a few knots here and there. And of course Jefferson will have to work hard over the summer. Other then that I see half of these negative morons shutting up come the end of the UNC game.

I remember multiple passes that were dropped that were perfectly placed. Although our QBs looked shaky, their stat-lines would have looked much better had the receivers not dropped some of the easy ones.

i think all the drops got to Jefferson early which got him frustrated which in turn lead to more of the wild throws.

JL looked good after the pick six. But a pick six per game is 12. It scares me, but JJ's play scares me too.

Lee always looks good during practices....i'm worried what he's going to look like on Saturdays.

And since we know what JJ looks like on Saturdays (worst offense in the SEC and almost the nation), I think most are realizing that ship has sailed
