The Saints are the first NFC team to start 13-0...and the first 1 seed to ever lose the last three games of the regular season..
so yes it is legit.

last 13-0 NFC team to win the SB was Washington.

Washington didn't start 13-0, they started 11-0.
The Saints are the ONLY NFC TEAM IN HISTORY TO START 13-0!

Dallas was 13-3 (#1 seed) in 2007 and lost in the divisional round to NYG.
Bears had 13 wins in 2006 and lost in the Super Bowl.
Seattle was 13-3 in 2005 and lost in the super Bowl.
Philly was 13-3 in 2004 and lost in the super Bowl.
Rams were 14-2 in 2001 (#1 seed) and lost in the super bowl.
So in the past 10 years, only 1 #1 seed with 13 or more wins in the NFC failed to make the Super Bowl and it was the Cowboys of all teams.
