Piped in crowd noise and cowbells at Miss St?

It was glaringly apparent that Miss St plays fake crowd noise through their speaker system during the game yesterday. I was at the game and it was incredibly loud, so I have to believe it is distracting to opposing teams and coaches. Not to mention wringing fake noisemakers with cowbells. WTF?
Since when is this allowed in the SEC or any stadium? I have been to almost every SEC stadium, UW, VA Tech, etc, and I have never heard of anyone doing this?

I was there and didn't find it especially loud, although the cowbells were annoying as hell. Jefferson needs to get used to it because it will be 10 times as loud next weekend in Athens.

heard last year during one of the games, if the opposing team's coach complains then it is a penalty against Miss St. Nobody does though...
