F**k that give me Freeman all day lol

He is leaps and bounds better than Daronte.

This shouldn’t even be debatable

Ill admit i dont watch much ND football and i know everyone talks about Rees as an up and comer but im just not sold on him as OC. I think there are a couple better candidates out there for us to look at first

Great question. Obviously to win in this current brutally tough SEC, you've got to have a wide open, multiple offense. Kelly is a bright guy, so hopefully he and Rees can handle such a task. That shite they've been running at Notre ain't gonna win 10+ games in a SEC schedule.
Yep. Part of what makes Evil Little Nicky the GOAT is his adaptability. He saw the offenses changing, realized he would have to change to stay on top, and did it.
BK was honest with himself about the ceiling at
Dome land so I want to say he knows there will need to be changes to his offense to win the Natty he came here for.

I get all the reasons to want Freeman. I just think Daronte has done a good job and is likely to be here 3-4 years if retained. Continuity is a good thing in modern college football.

This has me concerned as well. It is imperative we run a cutting edge, super creative offense.

DC choices:
Freeman
Belk from UH
Or retain Daronte.

Don't want Rees. If Kelly doesn't change his offense, he's going to end up being Jimbo Fisher, and while that will win games at LSU, we won't sniff a championship.

Telling yall, get Kevin Wilson from Ohio St. At his age, no way is he looking for another HC gig. I think Ohio St would let him walk considering Day is an offensive minded guy anyway. Get him here for 2-2.5 mill.

University of Oklahoma Wilson's 2008 up-tempo and no-huddle Oklahoma Offense resulted in the Sooners scoring at least 60 points in every one of their last 5 conference games and a 65-21 victory over undefeated Texas Tech. The Sooners' quarterback, Sam Bradford, finished the 2008 season with 4720 passing yards and 50 passing touchdowns. It was after the 2008 season that Wilson received the Broyles Award as the top assistant coach of the year. Wilson's offenses featured a then-NCAA record 716 points during the 2008 season which still ranks as No. 2 in FBS history. During Wilson's tenure at Oklahoma, the Sooners won six Big 12 Championships and played in 3 National Championships.

Indiana University In Wilson's last 5 seasons as Head Coach for the Indiana Hoosiers, his offense led the Big Ten Conference in passing yards per game (226.7 yards), was second in total yards per game (459.3 yards), third in points per game (31.4 points), and fourth in rushing yards per game (192.7 yards).

Ohio State University Since Wilson joined The Ohio State Buckeyes in 2017, they have averaged 523.8 yards per game (third in the nation), had more than 500 yards of total offense 27 times and over 600 yards nine times, scored 234 touchdowns (second in the nation), completed 138 touchdown passes (best in the nation), set six Big Ten Conference Offensive Records in the 2018 season (535.6 yards per game, 5,100 passing yards, 51 touchdown passes, 1131 total plays).[34] Wilson's offense produced back-to-back Heisman Trophy finalists (Dwayne Haskins and Justin Fields), the first 2,000-yard rusher in school history (J. K. Dobbins), and the fifth 1,000-yard receiver in school history (Parris Campbell).

I don't want to bang this OT 10 tonight. She'll be gone in the morning.

I'd rather take home this OT 4 and hang out with her until she gets tired of me.

Do you see how stupid that sounds?

More like an OT 10 and an OT 4 are in the same room. The OT 10 says I will bang you tonight and the OT 4 says I will bang you the next month. You don't not bang the OT 10 because you never know how often they will come around and on top of that who is to say you won't get an OT8.5 after the OT10.

This would be a good get but why isn't his name thrown around a lot more?

Who has lived through that more than us with Miles? No thanks! It’s a new day with Scotty at the helm, and Aleva finally down the road. I wished we’d have him about 10 years sooner.

Cool, we're gonna need linebackers regardless and that makes nose tackle/DL space eaters more prominent.
That should mean they can use Maason on either side and BJO should be a terror too.
We're gonna need some beef. I don't remember why Joseph left?

Doesn't matter. The end results speak for itself.

Notre Dame: defensive ranking #29 with Marcus Freeman.

UH: defensive ranking #6 with Doug Belk.

LSU: Daronte has greatly improved defensive efforts since the Bama game, ranking #61.

Each DC would make good DC at LSU but I like Doug Belk more than the other two because of the proximity to the BR area and the recruiting in the Houston area.

He runs a spread offense, but more important to my post, the offense where he has been in the top 20 scoring once the past decade. An offense where he peaked at #13. He's had an offense in the top 30 in yards per play 3 times (6th in 2016, 21st, 30th) in that same span.

Kelly's offenses are what trouble me. I don't want anything to do with what he has been doing offensively at ND. You do realize those numbers aren't that much better than LSU during that span don't you? Like I said, he will be akin to LSU getting Jimbo Fisher if he doesn't change his game up. Jimbo would win more here than he does at TAMU, but we're talking competing for playoff spots and you do that with his strong defensive approach, but also a strong offensive approach.

Not much difference between the two.

Honestly if we don't get Freeman, we should bomb rush to get Belk.
