The one thing that was troublesome to me about a few names being thrown about throughout this process as potential candidates was the question of staying power. Lane Kiffin to be sure, but also others who I wasn’t too sure would be all in for the long haul. I don’t really get that with BK, who I see as more of a grown up hire than an emotionally charged decision. He is more of a long term program building hire than the Chef’s special on the menu.

In short, the longer this hire macerates the more I’m convinced that Scotty outdid himself. What a difference an AD can make in a program. His hires have all been stellar so far. I’m very impressed.

Macerate-to soften or be softened by soaking in a liquid. I had to look it up. I thought it was a dirty word.
