Kelly went 4-8 in 2016 and lost to crappy ACC teams in NC State (ND scored 3 points), Duke and then a 5-7 Texas team and Stanford and Navy...
After going 10-2 the year before. They had a cake schedule and could only win 4 games. Media thought he would be fired. Imagine Ed O going 4-8 this year but on!y playing Vanderbilt and Kentucky and Florida and Auburn and then the service Academies and Akron and Tulsa, Syracuse and Georgia Tech.

And has won 10+ games each season since the 4-8 season in 2016.

Agreed. That was a terrible year. What did he do from 2017-2021?
Oh that’s right, complete overhaul of his staff, all 10 win seasons, and 2 playoff births right? That seems kind of good

1 of the 2 losing seasons he had in his whole career? If you don't like the hire , say you don't, because anything else is reaching. HATER!!!!
