I'm going to say it: once you get over ~$100 in bourbon you're paying for a name. You don't have to spend more than that to get good quality.

It's hard to find bourbon aged 15+ years for under $100, and age has quite a significant impact on flavor. So I'd say that's a very incorrect statement.

This statement was true 10 years ago when you could by 18 year old bourbon for 60 bucks a bottle.
