Their boat has (2) 2” hoses and pickups I think. Plenty of water flow. Our boat has (2) 1” pickups and it has no issues feeding our 3 pumps.

Reading through all these pages and following the project has made me feel a special kind of useless around the house. My wife thinks im a mechanical genius because i sprayed carburetor cleaner in the air filter to start the lawn mower this spring.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what the box does? But it gravity or auto filled with water and then the pumps were in the box and supplied the water to the livewell or wash down or whatever? Is that not correct? I was just trying to figure out where the water for the pumps in the box came from?

The box is mounted in the bottom of the bilge well below the waterline. A single box is fed by a 2” thruhull.

Estimate that a 2” thruhull 1’ below the waterline should flow about 3300gph (I think) I just quickly google calcualtired that.

Also the big names guys best marine use just 1 2” inlet for their 2 pump boxes.

They use multiple 2” pickups for 3 or more pump boxes.

If there is any issue where the 2 1500gph pumps pump down the level in the seachest too fast I’ll add a second inlet to the box that will go to a high speed pickup on the transom.

But those 1500gph pumps are rated at 1500gph with no outlet dp so we won’t even see that.

You will be fine with a single 2” inlet. This one feeds 7 pumps off (2) 2” inlets and has no issues when they’re all turned on lol.

That makes sense, I appreciate the clarification. So that box is watertight then is that correct? The water flows into the box from outside the boat and then is pumped out of the box, but no water goes in or out of the box any other way?

Correct.

If you look at the pics of the box there is one 3/4” valve on the lid. That is a vent that will allow any air that gets into the box from the aeration of the steps to vent out. That vent line will be routed up about a foot or two above the waterline on the hull side where the bilge outlets will be.

Are you going to be doing anything like safe floor or something to try deaden the sound of water while running/fishing? My buddy just fished charter boat believe it was razor head cat 42 out of venice and said the boat was very loud like hitting a wave in a john boat lol. Sick cat one day would love to have one with twins. That stereo will definitely overpower any noise. Awesome build!!

Well the charter boats in Venice either have an off brand sea deck or a safefloor so still pretty loud. We are thinking about spray foaming the hull sides on the inside to help deaden the noise.

As far as flooring we are going to try out plasdeck in hopes that it’s a little softer afoot than safefloor and a lot more stain resistant that sea deck type material.

Latest progress slow but steady. No reason to rush who knows when motors and rest of electronics even show up.

You can see why we have to build an inset box for the outrigger bases.

Ttop speakers and spreader lights holes cut.

Cutting the deck box lips to make room for gaskets. All hatches will have gemlux compression latches and flush mount hinges.

Should have enough rod holders and cup holders. Think it’s still missing a couple holes for the heavy duty 0 degree swivels that will go midship.
