If I’m not at work, I’m on vacation.

Doing Nazi salutes is probably the best way to get your point across.

This is what I am hearing. I have never been and leave in the morning to make the drive over. Everyone keeps calling it vacation, I do not think so. More like hell on earth.

At least you have the right mindset going into this vacation.

Look, Disney is what you make of it. I've been taking my kids multiple times a year for 15 years now. We just went for the Halloween party a few weeks ago and we're going back this weekend for the Christmas party. We've been so much we just do a few short trips throughout the year.

Here's what I always tell people going for the first time/first time in a long time:

1) You'll be around crowds of people.
2) Some of those people will be oblivious to anyone around them and will get in your way at times.
3) Most people are there just having a good time.
4) It's overpriced in most people's eyes.

You're not there for the food but:

5) The food is average to above average if you eat at the real restaurants.
6) The counter service places will be lesser quality and expensive for what you get.
7) Food and Wine Festival is going on right now in EPCOT. Take advantage of it. Tons of variety around the World Showcase. All freshly prepared.

You will have to wait in some lines but the times go down considerably if you:

8) Use the Genie+ system. We used it last month and it worked very well.

Transportation:

9) Parking isn't free but it's worth it in my mind. Pay for the preferred. Waiting an hour for a bus at the end of the day can be irritating as hell.

Aren't they still required on the busses?

I know thats not a universal rule but rather a federal mandate required on all public planes, trains, busses, etc

yeah, if I know we will be in magic kingdom when it closes, we just valet at Contemporary and walk over. Screw dealing with the ferry, busses or monorail

Sup 4's....

We were just there right before Halloween. They're definitely feeling the worker shortage. They don't have anywhere close to enough busses running. The monorails aren't fully functioning either. They're only running 5-6 a day at a time. The Skyliner is great for hopping between EPCOT/DHS but useless unless you're at one of those hotels.

Driving to and from the parks was so stress free.
