That is the weakest excuse. App St had 31k on a Wednesday this year. Boone is the 49th largest city in NC...

Good for them. App State built up a pretty loyal fan base through the FCS championship years and they usually turn out pretty well. They also faced the #14 team in the country. That certainly helps draw a crowd doesn't it?

I can go back to 2019 (last year was limited capacity) and App State was 7-0 ranked #20 in the country and they only had 18,800 turn out for a Thursday game vs 4-3 Georgia Southern.

ULs fan base could and should do better. No doubt. But don't be obtuse and act like weeknight games don't impact attendance. You certainly lose a chunk of fans who aren't going to turn out on a work/school night
