Why is it a good idea to keep O on for the rest of the year!!? Seems like this may be a miscalculation by Woodward. This season is just going downhill fast.

Having a lame duck Coach was the worst of both worlds. Should've waited to announce or actually removed him.

I've never heard of a coach being fired midseason and remaining the HC until the last game. Makes no sense

Maybe you can be the interim HC. Trust in Woody. Thanks for stating the obvious.

Woody already called. I told him I don't want the job.

Because as much as you hate O, the players and recruits love him. Its the best thing for the program to keep O around, to continue recruiting for us.

TCU offered Gary Patterson the same thing and he refused. O could've done the same, but he didn't.

quote:

The statement notes that TCU administrators asked Patterson to stay on through the rest of the 2021 season and take an off-field role with the university in 2022. However, Patterson decided to leave the role immediately and hand the reins over to Kill.

The separation agreement appears to have come, at least in part, amid TCU's desire to have its choice of coaching candidates this offseason ahead of Texas Tech, which fired Matt Wells last week, sources tell CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd.

Because if the interim happens to win a game, half the rant will want to hire him on the spot...

Yes.... because people would rather ask a question then search for it. They somehow figure that they arw asking something different because of their wording.

Same as asking about Lane becoming the next HC..... how many different ways can the same question be asked.

True, but you said it doesn't make sense.
The fact that two AD's wanted to keep their fired coach til the end of the season makes it seem pretty sensible.

It’s not, but was part of O’s request. In return the skeletons stay buried. It sucks for now but we’re within a month of naming new leader; much better than our prior weak arse ADs who would’ve given O one more year and new coordinators to right the ship.
