Future 5* OL lurking in NELA

Name is Trevon Bradford. He plays LT at Ouachita and is a sophomore. He is 6'6" around 255-260.
As sure fire a 5* OT as you will find.
Wish there was film, but unfortunately there isn't any. I have had the chance to see Ouachita play 3 times this season and I also saw Cameron Robinson his sophomore year at OPHS. This kid as as good as he was then in 2011.
With Campbell and Heard at Neville we have another right after them both who will be highly coveted.
When any film becomes available I will come back to this post and post it. There are some spare highlights from Ouachitas HUDL page but none of his are his own, but rather from his teammates on offense.
Strengths are genetically superior athleticism better than 99% of kids his size, incredible reflexes with his basketball prowess showing through with his footwork, and his speed on pulling from his tackle position on counter plays. Uses his hands quite well also.
No one beats him up front. I've yet to see it happen, he is too quick and his length is great for an OT.
Weakness being he needs more weight. That is about it and only it. Once that comes he will be a top 10 player nationally in two years.
Here is Ouachitas HUDL and try some of their other offensive personnel accounts to see him in action. #79. You wont be disappointed.

Wanna say this kid’s like 6’8” but could easily stand to put on 50-60lbs. You’re right though, he’s a potential 5*.

Loves basketball and Ouachita is a basketball school.
Should be very interesting how his family and coaches deal with this dilemma. If he is indeed 6'8 he may be a future basketball stud and choose that avenue.
But, I see dollar signs as a LT. That young man is an prototypical as it gets. It looks effortless for him.
I personally hope he sticks to football as number 1 and packs on some weight this offseason like Will Campbell did at Neville after his sophomore year. Campbell wasn't massive his sophomore season, but was more intense than Bradford. Both are same in terms of future potential at the same age and grades for each players as sophomores.

And the year after Trevon, Brett Bordelon will be coming out. He projects higher than his brother Bo. Probably won’t be a 5* but I would guesstimate he’ll be high 4* OT prospect.
The kid is roughly 6’3” 240 lbs. as a freshman this year

Gotta say that I was hoping to see a little more from Bo Borderlon in the televised games of Newman the last couple of weeks. Not that he didn’t look ok, but just not dominant at this stage, even though he’s going against undersized guys.

Dam, that doesn’t sound too promising to hear. I didn’t catch those games but I agree with you that he should be dominating the competition that Newman plays generally speaking

Just went and watched the first half of Newman‘s last game against Berkeley Prep out of Tampa (FL).
Bo Bordelon played right guard, and I thought he was more than adequate (getting pretty good push as a run blocker and holding his own in pass pro). Just my two cents.
Younger brother (Brett) is starting left tackle as a freshman, I noticed as well

This guy will be a 5 star and Heard from Neville is getting better every week and will be a solid 4 star. Crazy Heard has not been offered by LSU.

Someone at his school really needs to start pimping this kid to colleges. Having coaches who put together highlights and blast to across the country and all over social media can be the difference in playing at ULM and LSU

Does LSU have any coaches right now actively recruiting? I understand with the position they are in it is tough but they are getting way behind.

Yes LSU coaches are actively recruiting.
In fact, recently read that Blake Baker will be attending Harold Perkins’ upcoming high school game.

He needs to do everything that he can. A&M has massive momentum with him right now.

Correct.
I trust Woodward to rectify everything with recruits and potential recruits with a homerun hire at just the right time. Maybe the fact he is the one who hired Jimbo can spell dividends with those potential recruits like Perkins

Really, didn't know that Capt. (but can't say that I'm terribly surprised given the state of our program)
Posted this earlier on another board, but will repeat again here:
I hope Perkins sees (or takes a look at) Damone Clark's NFL trajectory before and after the 2021 season. This kid likely would have been an undrafted free agent prior to the 2021 season. 7-8 games later (2.5 months) and Clark's got some real momentum to be a day two (2) NFL draft pick (possibly even reaching the first few selections of Rd. 2) - assuming he finishes the season strong and has a good combine.
Imagine where Harold Perkins could get drafted if he had 1.5 - 2 solid years as an LSU linebacker - dude would easily be a high-end 1st Rd. draft pick (selected somewhere in the range of 12th-20th overall).
Point being, Perkins needs to be wise and choose LSU - he can absolutely become the next Devon White, Patrick Queen, Kevin Minter, D. Clark, etc. A&M ain't been sending LBs to the League w/ any regularity (think Von Miller may have been the last).

It is strange Heard not being offered yet. Not sure what they are waiting for.
For Bradford this is his first season playing OT as he was a DL in junior high and in Texas his freshman season I believe.
He is still raw as hell, but the new physical style Ouachita is playing with now is showing through and he is quickly learning his position on the fly.
Scary what this kid will do as he continues to mature and learn from this staff. He is still a baby in terms of age being only 15. His brother plays on the DL and was built similar to Trevon as a sophomore himself and then has become massive the last two years. I expect the same will happen for Trevon the next two seasons.

Some strong rookie posts ITT!

I watched Bradford play against Ruston (ophs got screwed that game), but you can't help but notice how much he stands out. He's got an enormous frame and has really good feet and quickness for his size. 100% agree with you.

Hope he pans out because we really need him to be someone that we can count on as a contributor. Too many oline recruits that aren’t really Like I said, I didn’t think he looked bad, but having watched a lot of D1 oline recruits over the years, I was hoping to see him stand out.

He is as aggressive as Campbell was as a sophomore but just not as strong yet. Once the strength sets in and he begins to mature physically he will be as good as Campbell. Raw. That is the best word to use to describe him. But he is as talented as all the greats (from NELA) before him up here no question about it.
