Also, the main pattern in the fall is be sure to fish a falling tide. drains and passes are going to be your best bet for trout. Reds along the banks.

Where are you launching ? what kind of boat?

Muscle bay area is a perennial producer in fall. But right now when winds are anything easterly, the morning tide is falling out from the bayous into lake borgne.......trout are all over those and there's tons of options. Don't need to stop where you see pile of boats, just go to the next one.
