Walk around your grass right after you mow it. If your grass is squishy and doesn’t feel as firm and flat as it looks, you definitely have moles.
We have them and those those little bastards drive me crazy. We have killed several in the 10 years we’ve lived here, but they must have litters 100 at a time. My next step is calling Carl Spackler

Btw of you feel moles are on your yard…. try these three methods
1: easiest and no real cost: throw some juicy fruit gum in hole. They eat it and can not pass it ( leave foil on).. sad but effective death
2: poison gummy if you have no dogs , kids etc… you find an active tunnel ( push down on the earth tunnel bump a little… if active the mole will pass under and repair it by pushing it back up)… when active tunnel found pull a little earth back and drop gummy in then cover hole you made..
3: spike traps…. Find active tunnel… lift top earth off.set trap in.
Fwiw moles really are not bad to have around as they eat grubs etc… but they can cause your yard to get very very “bumpy “
