Link is a few posts up.

They both had a weak 1995 (.250 and .253) and a good 1996 (over .300) but Jeter had a lot fewer at bats in the bad year and a lot more at bats in the good year. So the bad year weighted more heavily in Justice's overall average and the good season weighted more toward Jeter's.
