I am in no way invested in Zion. I love his play on the court, when he actually plays, but I cannot recall a more meh athlete representing New Orleans. At least Eric Gordon told us all he fricking hated it here. Zion is just there. For a guy with a million dollar personality, he sure disappears when he should be out doing PR.

I guess it is the small market fan in me, but if he don't want to be here, he can frick off.

Yeah, I mean, like I was saying last night, it's not the doomsday outcome some seem to imply.

If things cross into irreversibly toxic(and I still take the position we really shouldnt assume that til this season plays out), as long as we move proactively, this team could recover, and recover better than many expect.

Zion would get you a MASSIVE haul. Easily surpass every prior superstar deal if you did it right. And with it you could conceivably build a team around BI that is at a minimum, consistently competitive.

You might not have a top 10 talent, but you could very realistically get yourself a perennial 7-4 seed roster. And TBH, I would take that as a fan of this team.

This is a pretty perplexing thing.

He is a megawatt, international star.

And is an almost total zero in NOLA. No presence. Never here. No local appearances, endorsements.

Just a non-factor locally but a megastar nationwide.
