The whole situation with that is completely fricked all the way around.

One gymnast told her parents and they didn't believe her. Once it all came out the dad committed suicide.

You have to keep in mind the end goal
Most families of these girls were willing to endure that for the glory of gymnastics gold
I'm sure they knew, why didn't they push it while their daughters were being abused?
