I’ve been through this twice, although not quite as bad. The answer is medication, typically seroquel, risperdal or zyprexa. It sucks but it’s really the only way to keep them calm enough that they don’t cause problems/harm to themselves or others. Even if the medication works, I would strongly advise her to look into in home hospice care programs or long term care facilities for when his condition progresses, and it definitely will.
