Because UL was the only ranked football program in the state last season.

Of course they have always been insecure regarding UL due the fact that another school in Louisiana wants to be better. Small-minded people in the state only see LSU as the only game in town. The Ragin’ Cajuns will likely never be on LSU’s level in our lifetime but they have made huge strides and have a very formidable athletic program. Hard not to respect what they have done and are doing unless you have purple and gold blinders on.

A huge top 25 matchup with Texas this Saturday. A win would be huge. How many LSU fans would take Billy Napier over Coach O?

Other places like having more than one ranked team in their state because IT IS GOOD FOR THEIR STATE. Here, we think differently. The same mentality is probably why we are dead last in just about everything that spells "progress."
