They have tutors. Like they do at all schools to keep athletes from failing.
yep, and their academic "advisor" is tasked with keeping them eligible, with minimal distraction from their "job"

Facts. I have a relative that played for a P5 school recently. School is not priority.

a son of a friend I work with played golf, golf mind you! at ASU, kid never set a foot in line for anything at school, and not too many steps on campus either, as far as class registration, ID, parking -nada, different meal plan than other students, classes, complete with tutors, designed so as not to conflict with practice/tournaments, absolutely hand held throughout his entire time there

What’s the open container laws like while tailgating? I looked it up and it said it’s prohibited in public places unless permitted.

In the tailgating areas there are no open container rules, you can walk around with whatever you want. No mask rules either.

Appreciate the feedback. Should be a fun afternoon and well needed escape from Ida

You didn't sit in the Rose Bowl, with no wind. Field temperature was 112 degrees, and the seats, with metal, add 8 degrees to that.
Definitely a drier heat, but y'all get up to 120*?

zero issue with any open container until you enter the stadium, then plenty of trash cans until right before you enter

you can talk all the crap you want, it's friendly, but please. don't compare UCLA to ASU in terms of academics.
Have you read the list of Nobel Prize winners?
Oh yeah, we only have 120 NCAA championships.
LSU? 44. (5 in football don't count, but you can have 'em)

DTLA is a good place to stay.
Homeless are everywhere. Hollywood, DTLA, the Westside, Venice. Sign of the times, but worse than ever, yes.
DTLA has a lot of great bars, restaurants, and you're very close to the Rose Bowl via the 110 FWY.
LA Live is very alive, with big restaurants and bars, lively sports bars
Also, for a classic piece of Americana, head to the Pantry Cafe for breakfast (Friday or Saturday, early side). there will be a line.
9th & Figueroa, can't miss it, two blocks east of Staples Center.
98-year old, classic spot, owned by the ex Mayor of LA--Richard Riordan. A Repubican, believe it or not, which should appeal to most of my Bayou-based amigos

That's why my son and I bought tickets on the UCLA side in THE SHADE. We won't be sweating our balls off while enjoying the game. Anyone on the LSU side will have the sun in your eyes for at least 40% of the game, plus the heat, even a dry one.

Be careful around certain parts of L.A. or you won't see them comin'! UCLA campus area is decent. USC campus is like Northgate.

actually with 5:30 pm start, that sun will be behind the West mountains shortly after kick-off.
The sunny side will be pleasant unless you're way up there.
The team will be a lot cooler than if it were a 12:30 kickoff

I've never been to Pasadena. I didn't take into account the mountain being behind the press box. I just saw sunset was 7:14 that night. Good for those on the LSU side and thanks for the correction.
