This is what my dad said about it. Though he’s been gone from the Gulf and retired for a number of years now. So not as familiar with the operations anymore.

It sounds like it was the Olympus floating production system which was located in the Mars field. It was not a tethered platform like the tlp's but rather anchored similar to a ship or drilling rig but supposedly with much more robust anchoring systems. I was gone to Brazil when it was installed and put on line so not that familiar with it. I think it was contract operated but with a shell rep on board, at least back then.
