They don't leave a generator running, who would put the fire out if it caught on fire. They have battery back up power that monitors all that. They also have a GPS tracking device that is showing them exactly where the platform is.
Noble had one semi that broke loose during Rita and the track showed it to go right over the top of a stationary platform.
