This. Plus Chip isn’t known for his adjustments or game planning. His philosophy is that they are going to do the same 5-6 things over and over again and just be better at executing those plays than the defense is at stopping them, especially after the defense begins to tire from the HUNH.
You’ve seen more innovative spread concepts and passing concepts in the SEC the past 2 years than you’ve seen from Chip Kelly in his entire career. Which is part of the reason why he’s floundered in mediocrity in two levels of the sport since he left Oregon
Sorry but this is just not true. UCLA has run a completely different offense than his Oregon days, other than being run-focused and using some of the same passing concepts, it's completely different than his Oregon hurry-up spread. Instead of running 5-6 concepts very quickly and spreading to run, it's actually a massive pro-style playbook that is more likely to use 3 tight ends than 4 receivers, and uses a gap run scheme rather than zone. And the tempo varies between extremely slow and very fast, depending on the situation. UCLA fans were clamoring for him to go back to the HUNH after the first couple of years but last year it seemed to work so I guess he still knows what he's doing.
