quote:Well, I've seen it twice in the NFL. And besides--it's the fricking rule. Special teams coaches teach their guys that they can only jump straight up to block a field goal if they line up behind the line. We blew that play, and the refs caught us.
That's because you always get mysterious calls in JH. seriously, who calls jumping on a players back on an extra point???
I guess we just can't be happy--we bitch about the pass interference in 2006 because we think it was a bad call, and we bitch about the extra point which was a good call.
I'm starting to believe that LSU fans are kind of biased toward LSU.

It's funny how that penalty had not been called prior to or after in college football, and the league office issued an apology for misinterpretation of the rule, yet you in your infinite wisdom can see the justice.
You are obviously an official of some sort who finds it necessary to defend any and all. Good for you.
I don't start threads about these incidents, but I have no issue with someone who is in the least bit curious about the officials in this series when the game is played at Auburn.
No one continuously bitches about the officiating at any other school that I am aware of. We went to Florida after that and may have been the victim of a call or two, but that had no effect on the outcome of the game and you will not hear anyone question the crew for any other SEC game.
We were flagged in Alabama last year something like 11-2, yet where is the bitching about that. You're not going to hear it.
It is a shame that officiating has to be an issue at all, but for this game there, it is a legitimate one. Since you are so involved in all things officiating, I'm sure you are aware that a retired official from the Big 10 of 28 years said after viewing the tape of that game, if there were any incident involving officials that required an investigation, this would be it.
There were a number of reasons LSU lost to Auburn on both occasions. The biggest one being that they are a talented, well coached, quality team, as is LSU. And this is all the more reason to have officials at the top of their game.
